What are we pursuing in our life? I think most of us want to be happy in our life. I know that the exponent of happy in Hong Kong was low( In 143 cities, Hong Kong was the 84 placing), people complaint about why they don’t have the welfare, people worried about the becrease of economy. Actually, happiness can be very simple, we don’t have choice sometimes, but we can choose to be happy or not. Why don’t we look at what we already have? Why not enjoy our life? Refer to the research from a survey, it shows that Sham Shui Po was the top three place of citizens feel happy, the citizens think positive, moreover, most citizens feel sad and not satisfied in their life were in Central, it showed that the money can’t bring happiness. Therefore, I want to spread the positive attitude to the society, talk about the ways to have happiness always be our side.

I think a cafe could help my client ( happy living ) to promote happiness, held workshop and have a income support for them.

Here are the 7 ways of happiness ( from: happy living) which design a happy experience for Hong Kong people,

1) Thank and Praise

Menu with praising words, rename the dishes

Discount for families, encourage people share their happiness

Smiley & Hong Chi Association

Cushion Design- Group project‭ (‬2010‭) ‬

“Smiley” is our group name which means we wnat to share the happiness to others and help people who needed a better living.

In this project, we cooperate with GIORMANI to design a cushion for a organzation, therefore we found that the Hong Chi Association because we want to understand the disables, what are they thinking and their attitude.

After the dissucssion, we decide to communciate with them though games and drawings events. It could narrow the distance between each other.In addition, We don’t want the activities too formal or serious, we want to show our friendly and relax expression to the disables.

After communicate with the member in Hong Chi, I more understand their thinking. For example a man called Man Guk , he is not talkative, even not speak to others all the time but he expressed his positive thinking during drawing, I discovered that his happiness and thinking all reflected on his drawing. In the drawing, he used a lot of colours, just like a rainbow, and he drawn houses with big families. This showed that he like to live with different and many people, furthermore, his well-behaved shown on his painting skills, he won’t paint out of the sketches that he have drawn.

For the design of my cushion, I won’t change a lot from Man Guk’s drawing, because I am appreciate his imagination and positive thinking. I draw the character that he create on the cushion to express that the warmful and happiness in the families. Also I create a pattern refer to Man Guk colorful painting to express the wonderful world in his mind.

Road to somewhere

This drawing is refer to Goldfrapp’s song “Road to Somewhere”.The song is talk about an endless road, however, singer listen to the radio just like a friend. And I think the scene of this song like a dream, so I merge the sea and sky. An interesting things is three drawing have different output just like a puzzle.

Three-dimensional art (2009) 

I am not good at reciting things. Therefore I wish to have something to help me memorize the tiny bits and pieces of my life, so I created magical dim sum. I can write down what I want to recite, and then I will memorize everything after eating it. 

Local restaurant type

Typography Design (2012)

The Hong Kong Local Restaurant‬ ‬are one of the most characteristic in Hong Kong. The restaurant were sell cold drinks and snacks only in the beginning, but now the fast food restaurant started to replace the original local restaurant ‬from1980, they ‬sold rice, noodles... Until 2007, Hong Kong only have not more than 40 of local restaurant.

As the research I found, I discovered that there are a special language in these restaurant, here are some examples:

檸檬茶 = OT

熱檸樂= 206

外賣= 行街

扣底 = 少飯

Most of the Local restaurant use the short form for handwirting and communicate with chef or even customers. Therefore, I want to combine the special language with the words in Chinese.

LEAF BOOK

Book Design (2011)

As I know there are a lot of different types of trees in Hong Kong, however, we not often observe the trees , therefore, I want to create a book to introduce the common trees in Hong Kong and let people to feel the nature in Hong Kong ,so I collect the leaf in Kowloon Jai Park, There are more than 10 different types of trees.
